25+ years in music

The Full Story.

From an underground electronic project in 1999 to a Montana indie label with a fair-deal philosophy — this is where sOdEeP mUsIc comes from, and where it's going.

1998 The Origin
Chapter One

Jumalatar — Where It Began

Before there was a label, there was a project. In 1998, Jumalatar took shape inside the Brutal Art Soundlab — a transatlantic creative collaboration between the sOdEeP mUsIc founder, Montana-based producer Michael Gilboe (Copperhead Production), and Finnish electronic musician Perza Arhola.

The sound they built together pulled from every corner of late-90s electronic music: House, Trance, vocal pop. Multiple mix versions on a single release — one version for club DJs, one for radio, one for home listening. That kind of deliberate crossover thinking wasn't an accident. It was craft.

"A transatlantic collaboration — US meets Finland — fusing house, trance, and pop into something that crossed every room it entered."

The project was registered under Rainfall Blue Music / ASCAP. Publishing paperwork filed. Royalties tracked. This was a professional operation from day one.

The Archives Remastered

Twenty-four years after the original release, the Jumalatar catalog was professionally remastered. Not archived — actively remastered and re-released. That decision says something: this music was worth keeping alive.

Chapter Four

sOdEeP mUsIc — The Label

In March 2024, "Callin' out for Your Mother" dropped. Montana-made. Independent. Available on 7 major platforms. This wasn't a comeback — it was a continuation, built on 25+ years of knowing how to make music and how to move it.

sOdEeP mUsIc is a Montana-based indie label operating out of the 406. The ethos is simple: fair deals, real music, genre fusion. No one-sided contracts. No corporate math. Just artists working with a label that's been on both sides of the table and built something different because of it.

Building Something Different

The sOdEeP Difference

  • Equitable deals. Artists keep more. The industry default has always been the other way — we built in the opposite direction.
  • Genre fusion as a philosophy. House, trance, pop, electronic — Jumalatar proved that crossing genres isn't risky, it's the point. The label carries that forward.
  • Support for unsigned artists. The pipeline exists. The knowledge is real. The goal is to find artists who deserve a shot and give them one.
  • Credibility through history. Not a startup. Not a bedroom operation. Twenty-five years of music experience behind every decision.

If you're an unsigned artist who wants to work with a label that has skin in the game — we want to hear from you.
